Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of RNKD at rnkd.online (the “Site”), operated by D2r Internet Holdings, LLC, a New York limited liability company (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

You must be at least 18 years old, or use the Site under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian, and you must be able to form a binding contract. By using the Site you represent that you meet these requirements. Contributing reviews requires you to be at least 18.

RNKD publishes book reviews written by individual, named contributors who have read the books they review. Reviews are personal opinions. They are not professional advice, not a statement of fact about a book’s quality, and RNKD makes no guarantee that you will agree with them. Where several contributors review the same book, we show every take and do not resolve their disagreement.

RNKD is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any author, publisher, agent, or retailer. Book titles, author names, cover images, and other materials are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and editorial purposes. We correct factual, attribution, and disclosure errors on the page where they appeared; we do not correct opinions.

Each review is the copyright of the contributor who wrote it, published under a licence to RNKD to publish, edit for style, excerpt, and promote it. Contributors agree to separate contributor terms covering originality, disclosure of how they obtained a book, editing, and removal. An editor may correct spelling, grammar, formatting, and accidental spoilers; changing a criticism, adding praise, altering a rating, or changing a recommendation requires the contributor’s approval.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Site for your personal, non-commercial use. You may link to any page and quote short excerpts with attribution to RNKD and to the reviewer who wrote them. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

The Site and its original content, features, design, text, and code are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any part of the Site except as expressly permitted by these Terms. Copying reviews wholesale or republishing contributor content as your own is not permitted.

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation, or infringe the rights of others.
• Use scrapers, bots, crawlers, or other automated means to access, harvest, or copy the Site or its content except as permitted by our robots file.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Site, or interfere with or disrupt its operation or security.
• Use the Site or its content to train machine learning or artificial intelligence models without our prior written consent.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any portion of the Site or its systems.
• Offer a contributor payment, gifts, or a free copy in exchange for a review, or otherwise attempt to influence what a reviewer writes.

The Site links to third-party websites, including Amazon, and may display content hosted by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party sites or content, and a link does not imply endorsement. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their terms and policies. RNKD is a member of the Amazon Associates programme, though no outbound link currently carries an affiliate tag; see our Affiliate Disclosure. Any link that does will be marked on the page.

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error free, or secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, D2r Internet Holdings, LLC and its owners, officers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred United States dollars (US $100) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless D2r Internet Holdings, LLC and its owners, officers, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved by binding arbitration conducted in New York County, New York, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. You and we waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. This provision is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
