As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

That sentence is required of every member of the Amazon Associates programme, and RNKD is a member. It describes what the arrangement permits, not what has happened: no link on this site carries an affiliate tag today. Every “View on Amazon” and “Find on Amazon” link is a plain link to the book, with no tracking parameter of ours attached, so no purchase made through one has paid RNKD anything.

You can check that rather than take our word for it. Open any book page, copy the Amazon link, and look for a tag= parameter. There is not one on any of them.

A review is more useful if you can act on it. Amazon is a reliable way to see a specific edition, so we link to it. Your library is usually a better answer and costs nothing, which is why book pages say so.

Three things happen before a single commission is taken: this page is rewritten to describe exactly which links pay, every paying link is marked rel="sponsored", and the disclosure appears next to the link on the page rather than only here. The How We Review page changes with it, and the change is dated on that page.

Reviewers do not know or care whether a book’s link earns anything, and no reviewer is paid on sales. Recommendations and Roundtable treatment are settled before commerce enters the picture, and no book is reviewed because it sells well. The purchase link always sits after the last review, never before it, and never carries a price.

RNKD does not accept review copies, payments, sponsorship, gifts, or incentives from anyone financially connected to a book. Every reviewer on this site read a copy they owned, bought, or borrowed. If RNKD ever buys a copy for a reviewer, that review will say so on the page.

Advertising is a different arrangement from affiliate links, and RNKD is not running any yet. When it does, ads appear only on pages with a real review on them, and never on legal pages, search, forms, or error pages. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
