What RNKD collects, why, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it. This describes the tools we actually use, not tools we might use someday.

Just reading the site
In shortServer logs and basic analytics; no account needed.
Reading RNKD requires no account. Our servers keep standard access logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for a short period for security and debugging. We use privacy-conscious analytics to count page views and clicks in aggregate. [Placeholder: name the actual analytics provider and retention period before launch.]
Advertising
In shortGoogle AdSense may set cookies on pages with ads.
On pages that carry advertising, Google may use cookies or other identifiers to serve and measure ads. Where the law requires it — the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and certain US states — you will see a consent or opt-out message first, and your choice is respected. Legal, search, form, and error pages never carry ads.
Affiliate links
In shortClicking an Amazon link tells Amazon you came from RNKD.
Affiliate links include an identifier so Amazon can attribute a purchase to RNKD. Amazon's own privacy policy governs what happens on their site.
Reviewer applications
In shortWe keep what you send only while we evaluate it.
An application includes your name, email, country, reading habits, and a writing sample. It is read by an RNKD editor, kept while we consider it, and deleted if we don't proceed. It is never published, sold, or used to train anything. You can withdraw it at any time.
Contact forms
In shortKept as long as it takes to deal with your message.
Messages sent through the contact page are kept until the matter is resolved, then deleted, except where we need a record (for example, copyright notices).
Your rights
In shortAsk us what we hold, correct it, or delete it.
Email us via the Privacy option on the contact page. We'll respond within the time your local law requires and usually much sooner. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and reviewer applicants must be 18 or older.
